My mom told me to use it to note down daily activities before sleeping, against each page with proper date, as it is a good habit. Buoyed by the initial euphoria of writing on a new book, on the first day of my diary writing, the following is what I had written:
' I woke up early in the morning and brushed my teeth. Had breakfast and milk. Went to school. Had break for snacks. Had lunch at 12:30. Played hide and seek from 4 to 5. Came home. Played cricket in the field from 6 to 7. Had bath and dinner. Watched TV and slept at 9:30'.
That was pretty much the same I was writing for the next couple of days. It sort of preoccupied my mind as a liability rather than an interesting activity. As it is a good activity (as per my mom) I thought I should continue doing. But, being born intelligent :-), used a carbon paper and interlaced it between the pages to fill up for the next few days. I was extremely happy at my success of completing the 'task of diary writing' for the next few days.
One day out of curiosity, my mom asked me how it is going. With the exuberance of the whole world, I replied, "I have finished for the next week as well" and brought the diary and showed it to her. Guess what happened next? She was laughing through out the day.
By the next day I realized that one has to write important aspects rather than regular stuff. Not sure what to write, did not write anything for about 10 days (anyway, my diary was already filled up for the next week :-)). During the course of next 10 days, I have penned down few exciting incidents. On one Sunday, when I was helping my mom to clean the house, she accidentally opened my diary and she was aghast after reading
'We killed green viper in the field with bamboo sticks, found hanging from tree branch, today afternoon '.
Guess what happened next? No play in the field :-( and I stopped writing my diary.
